ABOUT KATJERI
Katjeri was born from my love for creating and my deep connection to culture. After having my son, I knew I wanted to build something that allowed me to be present with him—something that would give me space to watch him grow while also becoming a way for him to learn about who he is and where he comes from.
The name Katjeri means beautiful in the Tanganekald language.
I chose this name with intention, so that anyone who came across my brand would know that beauty lives here. In the stories, in the process, in the connection.
Through Katjeri, I share my own stories and those of the people who walk beside me. It’s more than just art—it’s a way to reconnect with land and country and to carry culture forward. My hope is that Katjeri becomes a space where others can feel that connection too, and where culture and creativity come together.

MEET THE ARTIST
My name is Tehya Rankine and I’m a Ngarrindjeri Tangane mimini, artist, weaver, and mama.
Creating has always been a part of who I am, and combining my love for culture and art naturally led me to Katjeri.
Becoming a mama helped me find my purpose—not just in raising my son, but in walking this path as an artist. I’ve always felt a deep connection to the ocean and country, something I later understood as my miwi—our inner spiritual compass that ties us to land, waters, each other, and all living things.
Through my work, I hope to help others reconnect with their own miwi, and feel the strength, love, and belonging that comes from culture and creation.
